Formed in 2016 and located on the spectacular far north coast of New South Wales near Pottsville, the Black Rocks Boardriders club are the newcomers on the competitive surf scene with their focus during their initial formative years spent on building engagement and attracting new members through a focus on fun, family and good times.
Like most boardriders clubs Black Rocks welcome surfers of all abilities. Run by the members for the members, Black Rocks BRC boasts a number of professional judges amongst their ranks
Attracting numbers certainly hasn’t been a problem for the Black Rocks club and they now boast a large membership and lay claim to a host of extremely talented young surfers and they are officially the country’s largest board riders club by membership.
The club traditionally starts each season with a contest celebrating the life of former club member James Tate who was tragically killed prior to the clubs first ever competition. The “James Tate Memorial contest” attracts competitors from across the region.
Quiksilver is a proud marquee and foundation sponsor of the club, which also enjoys support from community minded businesses located across the area.
