They are a passionate bunch at the Currumbin Alley Boardriders and for the past 41 years, the club has been producing surf champions of all ages with Performance and Passion at the heart of the club’s rich history.
Keith Halford and Brad Smith kicked things off with a meeting at the Palm Beach Hockey Club in 1981 to gauge the interest from locals in forming a Boardriders club. There was and the Salt City Boardriders were formed, and it quickly became a place for the regions surf crazy kids to call home.
The Currumbin Alley BRC prides itself on being a community-based club where surfers of all ages and abilities can come to enjoy the social and competitive opportunities provided depending on their skill and aspirations.
The club has produced a host of champions including Luke Munroe, Grant Frost and Mark Richardson, and to this day boasts one of Australia’s largest contingents of Grommets, with the continued development of Junior Surfers the clubs number one priority.
