Club Spotlight: North Narrabeen Boardriders

North Narrabeen Boardriders turn 59 in 2023, and what better way to start their celebrations than with a victory at the Usher Cup “World Club Challenge” and that’s exactly the mindset, former ASP competitor Nathan Hedge and his NNBRC teammates will have as they make their way north from Sydney to the Gold Coast.

The club has always thrived on creating and nurturing a competitive environment for its emerging and developed surfers to test themselves in and has subsequently enjoyed success across all six decades with a cavalcade of international surf stars calling North Narrabeen Boardriders club home.

While surfing legends Damien Hardman, Nathan Hedge, and Simon Anderson are still active within the surf community, it’s the clubs emerging talent who are constantly pushing limits, making the club one of the most competitive BRC’s in the world.

When it comes to teams surfing, the North Narrabeen crew have solid form having captured the 2021 nudie Australian Boardriders Battle, edging out fellow Usher Cup competitors Snapper Rocks Surfriders Club, Merewether Surfriders Club and Point Lookout Boardriders Club. The club also contesting the semi-finals of the Hyundai Australian Boardriders battle this year.

With a brilliant blend of youth and experience, North Narrabeen Boardriders will again be one of the competition favourites when surfing gets underway at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast from the 19th to the 22nd of January 2023.

Usher Cup 2023 is proudly supported by Tourism and Events Queensland & the City Of Gold Coast.
