Currumbin Wildlife Hospital – Australia’s Wildlife Warriors

Stop two on the 2023 #10forTen charity drive and Usher Cup co-founders Theodore Vairaktaris and Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew couldn’t leave our next recipients off the list.

A long-time advocate of the hospital, Usher Cup co-founder Wayne Bartholomew was pleased to once again visit the CWH team.

”They just do an amazing job, I mean it’s just great that the Usher Cup and Usher Love are making this contribution to a super worthy cause.”

The One of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital has rescued and rehabilitated more than 140,000 wildlife patients since they first opened their doors twenty years ago.

Hospital General Manager and Senior Veterinarian Dr Michael Pyne, saying the hospitals work continues around the clock.

“We are treating, we are rehabilitating and of course we are releasing the wildlife back out into the wild.”

Each year, the thousands of animals treated at the hospital are carefully released back into the wild, allowing them to breed and produce future generations.

Usher Cup co-founder Theodore has been a long-time supporter of the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital saying while it is a place of healing, their work also ensures that wildlife spaces and places are restored and maintained.

This place always amazes me, every time I come here, it’s making a positive impact, saving our wildlife in our community, thank you Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.”

Designed to recognise those making a genuine difference to the lives of Gold Coasters in need, the Usher Cup #10forTen charity drive provides each of the selected charities with a $10,000 donation with cheques presented on the final day of the contest.
