The Usher Cup is once again making its presence felt across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales with the 2022 event set to be bigger and better across the board.
The prize purse is bigger, we’ve attracted even more sponsors, and we’re launching a new fundraising initiative to directly assist 10 local charities.
Due to the generosity of our partners and the local community, the inaugural Usher Cup surf contest raised an incredible $60,000 which was distributed across four exceptionally worthy charities.
As preparations ramp up for the 2022 event, Usher Cup founders have announced the $10k for TEN campaign – in association with the grassroots surf contest, the event will be raising funds to directly contribute $10,000 to ten local charities across South East Queensland.
In addition, the winning Boardrider Clubs – 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 respectively, to be donated to a charity of their choice.
Selection of the ten charities was performed in collaboration with challenge based charity App Fund My Challenge, which assists to amplify the message, reach and awareness for non-for-profit organisations. Operating for nearly twelve months, Fund My Challenge utilises a strict vetting process prior to onboarding charities and causes which ensures Usher Cup is only working with charities that are committed to raising and distributing funds directly to where they are needed most, as quickly as possible.
The Usher Cup is proud to support the following charities:
